It's official
My toenail fell off. I knew it was going to soon. It's been sore for a while. I went to the doc yesterday about my knee and he gave me some advil and told me not to run for 10 days. I thought I would like being told not to run for ten days but I didn't. I thought my knee was worse than he said but today it feels ok. I have been wondering what I'm going to do now that I'm not training. I had kind of a let down after all the excitement on Saturday. So I decided to keep training. I'll start out with just short runs but I think I need to keep going.I need a goal and I like how I felt running the race. So instead of waiting, I'll keep going. I'll be there for the 5k in May.

I still have a toenail that is hanging on for dear life, and I wish it would just fall off already-- advice on how to speed this process up? And, I'm thinking we should do a half in the fall-- maybe St. George? We should talk about all of this next week when we go and get our new jeans!!!!! Hooray!
I was at Costco today and they had a super cute pair of Citizens. I almost bought them. I deserve a new pair too, right? I bet my buns would have looked amazing. :)Now I wish I would have!
Melissa,
Don't you feel like a full fledged runner now! Too bad that our feet are losing toenails just in time for sandals, but I guess it just gives us a chance to brag about what awesome runners we are!
Having four brothers, I think it is COOL to have lost a toenail for a race! Battle wounds! Can't wait to see those new jeans!
k - just wanted to say that I saw some of you at the race on Saturday and thought your shirts/blog/friendship/group was the coolest thing ever! I had serious girl-envy. I'm totally gonna copy you guys next year!
Will you frame the toenail and keep it with your finishers medal? :)
