Has anyone tried...

THESE? I saw a woman running in a similar contraption in Sugarhouse Park last week and while I was a slippin' and a slidin', she wasn't having a bit of trouble running on the ice and snow. She said these bad boys were the secret. My only hesitation is I would be worried about them messing with my stride, or giving me an injury from screwing up the bottom of my shoe and making it uneven. So, what do you think?

hey, i am a runner too.. i stumbled on your blog. when i saw this post i had to comment. YES i've been using them for about 3 years now. i LOVE them. they are great when it's icy and the snow is packed on the streets, even in powder. the only time when they really mess with your feet is when you run directly on asphalt or concrete.. but on bad snow days they are TOTALLY worth it.

I just thought I'd add my 2 cents. I got a pair of these for Christmas. I've only been able to use them twice, but they are amazing. They feel a little weird if you're running on a clear patch of road, but the traction is amazing on packed snow and not too bad on ice, either. On non-packed snow, they tend to "collect" snow, but if you stomp a few times, it will come loose. My only complaint is that people in my neighborhood are usually too quick to clear their snow, ha ha, so I usually don't need them.

But I would say they're worth the price!
